Our Mission

At FilmPsych, we believe that creativity equals change if used right. Our mission is to preserve and amplify diverse cultural, racial, and lived perspectives through the universal languages of film, writing, art, and research. We believe that understanding the human mind and experiences requires more than textbooks and technical terminology—it requires stories and art shaped by history and identity. By empowering young talents to explore and share narratives that matter, we work to challenge stigma, foster empathy, and connect communities through meaningful visual storytelling.

Our Vision

We envision a world where diverse cultural narratives are celebrated, preserved, and embedded into the stories young people grow up with. As trusted children's networks and educational media platforms face increasing funding and accessibility challenges, amplifying underrepresented voices has never been more important.

By combining creativity with culturally-informed storytelling, FilmPsych aims to empower the next generation to understand their roots, celebrate diverse identities, and connect with communities through shared narratives and lived experiences.

FilmPsych Animation Studios

Our most ambitious creative initiative to date.

We are currently launching FilmPsych Animation Studios, a youth-led, interdisciplinary studio dedicated to visual storytelling that explores overlooked historical moments and cultural backgrounds through human experience and emotion.

Our pilot studio will produce a short animated series using painterly, watercolor-style 2D animated short films to translate history into imagery that young audiences can feel, understand, and remember. Each film blends credible research with psychological insight, focusing on how emotion, memory, and resilience have been expressed visually across time and place. We will also dive into narratives of today.

Your support directly funds paid student animators, illustrators, and visual researchers, enabling them to create original short films that bring historical and cultural stories to life—especially at a moment when trusted educational media for children and adolescents is increasingly underfunded (such as PBS).
